A walk around the streets will take you to various squares:
Plaça del Pau (town well) , Catalunya ( Catalonia),
L'Esglesia de la Marina (the church) and Coll de Balaguer.
Near the beach there is a pleasant promenade, which is safe
for children. Behind the town there is a small chapel, Sant
Roc, on top of a mountain which is accessible on foot, and
which gives interesting views.
In L'Almadrava you can walk by the sea and visit the chapel
of Sant Jaume.
In the mountains:
In Vandellós, there is the church of Sant Andreu
( 1773). The squares and streets in the town are typical
of this area and if you continue until you reach the top
of the mountain, you will be rewarded with splendid views.
There are also paths along which you can take mountain walks.
At Masboquera there is a Riding Center, why not trek through
the mountains on horseback.
At Masriudoms you can see the 13th century steeple with
its bell and nearby the plaça de la Font ( Fountain)
you will find a small open-air wash house.
History:
This area has a long history which dates from 1191, when
the village of Vandellós ( which means Valley of
Laurel) received a Royal Charter. In 1346, Hospitalet
de L'Infant was born thanks to Peter ("infante Pere")
who founded the old hospital which bore the name.
