Vila-seca is a little tourist city with a fantastic
infrastructure. At the coast, we can find several natural
areas as el pinar de Perruquet, la Sequía Major
and the ‘parque de la Torre d’en Dolça’,
a pleasant public parc of 36,9 ha. The historical part
of Vila-seca consists in the old Torres de Defensa (towers
of defence); el castillo del Comte Sicart; el portal
de Sant Antoni; la iglesia de Sant Esteve; el Piló
del Rescat; La Ermita de la Pineda; el Celler Cooperatiu
and la Creu de la Beguda, a beautiful entirety of constructions
in the city.

| The
soft sea breeze, the crystal clear water and especially the
calm are some of the most important characteristics of the
La Pineda beach. A nice promenade runs parallel with the beach
and has a length of almost 4 km. The beach itself is one of
the most safe, clean and environmental beaches. A demonstration
of it is the ‘bandera azul’, the bleu flag, a
decoration from the ‘Fundación Europea de Educación
Ambiental’ (European Foundation for Environmental Education).

But Vila-seca offers you more! During the summer period, a lot
of activities are organised on this beach.
Vila-seca (vila sicca) or ‘city of the road’ is
a municipality with an old tradition of cultural interchange.
In the old part of Vila-seca the ‘torres de defensa’
(towers of defence) stand out. These towers were built to fortify
the exterior walls of the medieval nucleus and the castle of
‘Comte Sicart’. The castle of Comte Sicart is restored
and renovated and has now a rather modernist aspect. Actually,
the cultural life of Vila-seca is managed by the ‘Auditorio
Josep Carreras’ because of its historically musical tradition.
People visiting Vila-seca also can enjoy the several attractions
and shows of the theme parc ‘Universal Mediterranea Port
Aventura’ or enjoy the aquatic adventure of Costa Caribe.
Or you can enjoy another day of adventures in Aquopolis, the
aquatic parc with the big and high slides. Aquapolis also has
a dolphinarium, the only one at the Costa dorada, where dolphins
and sea lions show their fantastic acrobatics.
La Pineda Playa, attaching lots of importance to its tourism,
organizes innumerable sport and entertainment activities during
the summer period. By day you can enjoy the peace and quiet
of the beach, try the typical Mediterranean gastronomy, go for
a walk or go shopping, make an excursion trough the province
of Tarragona or participate in the several activities. And also
during the evening Vila-seca offers you a lot of possibilities:
life music bars, discos, open air concerts, etc.
