Torredembarra, located in the heart of the
Costa Dorada, is an attractive and inviting
place for visitors, either in the good times of winter
or the dynamic summer. From its traces of ancient
Roman remains to its ultramodern marina, Torredembarra
offers a wide variety of cultural and sporting opportunities,
a rich gastronomy, leisure and entertainment... and
an absolutely unbeatable climate and situation.
The promenade takes us from the varied commercial
and restaurant areas of the marina to the typical
fishing port area and, a little further on, to the
protected natural area of salt marshes and sand dunes,
a nature reserve which well deserves a visit.

The sea influences the local gastronomy, in which the
fruits of the fishing industry predominate.. "Romescos",
"asmarris", "alls cremats", "xatons", "bulls", "suquets",
"arrossos"... they form another magical tradition which
must be tried, without forgetting the better known components
of the mediterranean diet. The climate favours the local
nightlife: the terraces are the anterooms of the enclosed
premises for music and dancing. By day the possibilities
are also varied: starting with the beach -long, wide and
of fine sand-, there are sporting and nautical activites
of all types, cultural visits, shopping and commercial
areas and picturesque sightseeing tours... it offers a
complete range of opportunities where everybody can find
his own magic sense of the mediterranean, of the people
and their history.
The magic of Torredembarra is also the magic of
Roman Tarragona, the lively historic capital; the
magic of the Císter excursion route, including
the Royal Monasteries of Santes Creus and Poblet; the
magic of the universally popular theme park Port Aventura;
the magic of the olympic modernity of Barcelona; the magic
of the winegrowing areas inland; the magic of its folklore;
the magic of the Ebro Delta. But, above all, it is the
inherent magic of Torredembarra: the peace of the beaches,
the serenity of the sea, the luminous light which falls
on everything, the richness of its gastronomy, the historic
buildings, lively variety of its cultural and festival
traditions, the balanced contrast between old and new...
If you come you will see. Torredembarra, a sea
of magic.
