SPORTS
: |
|
Salou is an energetic city open to all activities, which
is why it could never neglect its sports facilities.
The capital of the Costa Daurada has an ample system
of sport-related infrastructures such as a sports pavilion,
a municipal indoor and outdoor pool, a football pitch,
a tennis club...
The capital of the Costa
Dorada, along with Cambrils and Montroig, have recently
inaugurated the Estacin Natica Salou-Cambrils-Montroig
(Salou-Cambrils-Montroig Nautical Club). |
 |
| |
|
Being
a coastal town, Salou has always offered the
chance to engage in water sports, above all during the
summer season. With the Estacin Natica, the selection
of sports has been widened, and you can enjoy windsurfing,
sailing, jet-skiing, boating and scuba diving all year
long place to do sport. That's why a sports area has
been created on Salou's Playa de Llevant (Llevant Beach)
where you can play basketball, football and volleyball,
do aerobics, fitness and strength-building exercises,
or just keep in shape, as well as engage in beach games
(paddleball, badminton, indiaka, korfball). |
| |
|
In addition, Salou
is working on the construction of a large sports complex,
so as to improve the city's offer and meet the demands
of the Central European tourists who visit us in winter.
This area will span 20 hectares, and special attention
should be called to the construction of a stadium seating
10,000 people that will include sections of covered
stands. |
 |
|
|
Finally,
you can also play golf, since the Costa Daurada has
four golf clubs for the lovers of this sport, just a
few kilometres away from the city centre. |

BEACHES
: |
Salou's
beaches are, undoubtedly, one of its best attractions:
hence the importance of their care and maintenance.
Their fine golden sand, their clear shallow waters,
and, in short, their beauty continue to captivate the
tourists that visit our coasts year after year. |
| |
|
Salou
has a total of eight beaches. There are also a few coves
of stunning natural beauty that cannot be accessed directly
and, therefore, are less known. Many of them are surrounded
by pine trees and nature, a fact which transforms them
into magical and unforgettable places. The main beaches
are: |
| |
|

Llevant
Public services include: showers and foot washers, toilets,
access for the disabled, telephones, lifeguards and first
aid, restaurants, an entertainment area, cleaning services

RESTAURANTS
: |
|
|
Salou
and the entire Costa Daurada are not only known for
their climate and nature, but also for their delicious
cuisine, especially for the excellent quality and variety
of the seafood. Salou offers a wide range of restaurants
specialised in Mediterranean cuisine with a selection
of appetizing and flavourful traditional dishes.
As to the variety of
the dishes, apart from the region's fish and shellfish,
we must make special mention of the fine-noodle pastas
made with fish broth and the baked fish flavoured with
sea-salt in the ancient Mediterranean style, dishes
you'll love that are made according to the traditional
recipes of the area's fishermen. |
| |
|
The wine
is another good excuse to travel and discover our city.
You'll find five highly differentiated guarantees of
origin on the Costa Daurada: D.O. Priorato, D.O. Tierra
Alta, D.O. Cuenca de Barber, D.O. Peneds and D.O.
