After a long, sunny day at the beach and a refreshing shower, you will be ready for this enriching experience.

Salou: The perfect self-guided evening stroll for the whole family

Start your evening stroll on the Paseo Jaime I at the harbour. This is not just the tipical promenade you can find everywhere. This is a fun walk of 2 km with plenty of playgrounds in the sand, shops, ice cream parlours, beach bars,…and of course it’s most famous palm trees all along.

As Salou has a long history of fishing, the best place to start your walk is on the well known pier with the Fishermans monument and next to it the local fishing boats on the beach. The perfect image to reflect on part of the history.

Don’t miss the impressive modernist houses in front of the harbour. Specially the Bonet Villa, disigned by the architect Domenech Sugranyès, one of Gaudi’s pupils. Check out the fantastic color of the tiles, very similar to those in Park Güell in Barcelona.

Ornamental Fountains

Along the way, you will find many fountains, each an every one of them with a show going on or a special venue coming up. The first one you will find is the Cybernetic Fountain. right next to the harbour. Spectacular shows with lights and music (rock and classical) every 15 minutes.

Almost half way, at the satue of Jaume I, kids will go crazy about the Labyrinth Fountain, made up of a maze of jets and a geyser. This is the perfect place for the kids to refresh themselves, play with water and have fun on a lovely summer evening.

After this crazy water fun, head towards the Iluminated Fountain. Work of the famous engineer Carles Buigas. With over 100 jets and dispensers, a fantastic show of light and music is guaranteed. There only 1 show per day (11pm), so don’t miss it! Right next to the fountain, you can enjoy one of the best ice creams in Salou. Go find your favorite flavor, take a seat and watch the show!
