Your ultimate guide for the best beaches in Cambrils

Cambrils coastline boasts a stretch of 9 km Blue Flag sandy shores with safe, shallow waters for taking a dip and trying out a fun watersport. With it's many playgrounds for children and adults alike, teaming with beach games and water sports, boat excursions and evening entertainment, the beaches of Cambrils have something for all. Whether you want to sail, fish, kayak, water ski or hire a pedalo, Cambrils offers activities to suit every age and taste.

The beaches of Cambrils are divided into two sections, separated by the marina. The busiest beaches with most activities are beyond the marina to the North East. They might get crowded in peak season. If you prefer a quieter beach, try the ones located to the South West of the village.

If you are feeling energetic, embark on a cycle ride or walk to the next resort Salou, the tourist capital of the Costa Dorada, located 8 km along the coast of Cambrils.

1. Cap de Sant Pere Beach - ideal for families

The picturesque Playa de Cap de Sant Pere boasts calm, shallow water and fine golden sand making it ideal for a family holiday in Cambrils. With a lifeguard on duty, it’s a safe choice. Natural boundary between Cambrils and the neighbouring town of Salou, so it might get busy in the summer months. Go for a pleasant walk on the promenade, a lively walking / bicycle path running between Salou and Cambrils. As for basic services, it offers daily cleaning and maintenance, toilets and showers and a beach bar for lunch, drinks and ice creams! A day full of possibilities that will make your summer unforgettable!

2. Vilafortuny Beach - One of our favourite beaches in Cambrils

The next beach on your way to Cambrils, in a semi urban area, you will find the popular blue flag Playa de Vilafortuny. The sea tends to be calm and the sand golden, plus it has a lot of facilities. The beach doesn’t get as busy as some of the other Cambrils beaches, and is around 1200 metres long by 70 metres wide. You will find a more Spanish crowd here, but also foreigners who rent nearby apartments.

3. Esquirol Beach

Get a tan on this famous golden beach with crystal clear waters, lined with pine trees. Quiet and shallow, clean and transparent, just perfect for a family beach holiday. A small water sports centre offers plenty of water activities like wind surf, stand up paddle, banana rides and kite surf. We recommend the beach bar with live concerts during summer. Good food and drinks. Just up from this beach, you will find many of our family holiday apartments with kids pool and amazing sea views. There is a small fun fair for the kids that opens late afternoon.

4. The Cavet Beach

The Playa Cavet is the best option for a more relaxed atmosphere. It's a small, shallow and calm beach, protected by breakwaters. This is a fantastic spot to do some snorkeling, so go get your goggles. If you need a little bit more action, explore the surroundings on a paddle board. There is a water sports centre offering windsurf and kite surf lessons. Furthermore, have a picnic in the shadow of the pine trees or admire the sunset. A unique experience for the whole family!

5. The Regueral Beach

The most popular and biggest beach of Cambrils, the Playa Regueral, is situated in the centre of town. if you are looking for a relaxed experience, this might not be the ideal beach, but it sure is very comfortable to go with kids. Shallow waters and fine golden sand, beach bars, lifeguards and other beach activities such a beach volley, football give this beach a pleasant atmosphere. If you fancy a cruise or want to go sailing, go check your options at the Marina, where you will find plenty to choose from. Go soak up the summer vibes on an evening walk on the beautiful beach promenade "Las Palmeras". Lovely boutiques, souvenir shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors and the Marina make Cambrils the best place for a family holiday on the beach.

6. La Riera Beach

Grab your beach towel and go get a tan on the smallest beach of Cambrils, the Playa La Riera. This pet-friendly beach is mostly visited by the locals as it is right next to the Marina. You will find golden sand, pebbles and transparent blue water. On the promenade there are sport facilities such as a basketball field and a space where summer concerts take place. If your energy level gets low, get a tasty snack at the food truck.

7. Horta de Santa Maria Beach

As you continue beach hopping, the next beach you'll come across is the Playa de Horta de Santa Maria. A good option for a relaxed day down at the seafront with the kids. However, there are still a good amount of facilities like playgrounds, showers, toilets and rescue services. In case you are looking for water sports or activities, it's better to go to the Regueral beach. For an evening walk, choose the promenade. It's the best place to chill. If you fancy a relaxed dinner on the beach try "El Marino". This world famous chiringuito serves the best seafood in town. This Caribbean style restaurant has a beautiful terrace and surely has those summer vibes you are looking for.

8. La Llosa Beach

If you are looking for the less crowded beach of Cambrils, this is definitely the place to be! The Playa de la Llosa is 1 km long and consists out of several smaller beaches and coves, created by breakwaters. Thanks to this, the crystal clear waters are calm and shallow, making it the best option for families. Let's get a drink at one of the many beach bars. If you like snorkeling, this beach is perfect as it has some kind of artificial islands where you can discover sea life. If you need a cold drink after a day in the sun, head to the nicely decorated beach bar.

9. Ardiaca Beach

Playa La Ardiaca, the most southern beach of Cambrils might get a bit crowded during summer months. During the low season it's quiet. This M shped beach has several coves seperated by breakwaters, protecting the beach from the waves. The water is calm, shallow and transparent which makes it perfect for families with small children. This beach offers a lot of services like showers, toilets, rescue services, beach bars and restaurants. Don't forget your sunscreen and a hat!
