1. Llevant Beach

The longest natural of Salou’s 9 beaches, the Llevant Beach is located in the centre of town and bordered by the great Jaume I promenade, landscaped to the highest quality, lined with hundreds of palm trees and the famous dancing fountains which are a big tourist attraction. Along the promenade you will find a wide range of leisure facilities, stores, terraces, beach bars, restaurants and services suitable for all ages. The beach is awarded with the Blue Flag and offers a large array of services and facilities including sun loungers, umbrellas, showers and a team of lifeguards. 2. Ponent Beach

Bordering the Miramar Promenade, the Playa de Ponent is really quite spectacular. The soft golden sands which are cleaned daily gently slope down into the blue waters of the Mediterranean. This makes it an ideal and safe place to take your kids. The shallow, crystal-clear waters and fine golden sand along this beach has a huge appeal for families with children. It's a natural beach that never gets crowded. Relax there under a palm tree and enjoy one of the best beaches of Salou.

3. Playa Llarga

This natural paradise gives away it's name as this is the largest beach of Salou. The Playa Llarga, where fine golden sand and crystal-clear waters offer a perfect blend of sea and sand, is fringed with pine groves. One of the most spectacular jewels of this beach is, undoubtedly, the Cami de Ronda or Coastal Path. This 5,5km pedestrian route runs around the Salou coastline for 5.5 km, providing spectacular views and happy afternoon strolls. The Playa Llarga is located away from the main tourist areas and therefore the perfect beach for a relaxed family beach holiday in Salou.

4. Capellans Beach


Playa Capellans is one of the most popular urban beaches in Salou and is quite compact in size (200 meters long) flanked by a pretty seafront and protected by natural cliffs. This beach of fine sand hardly has any slope into the water, so it is very good for children and people of limited mobility. It also boasts good facilities including life guards and a beach bar. Playa Capellans is situated within easy walking distance of the popular holiday apartments in Salou. A lovely spot that is very popular with families, due to its proximity to such accommodations as UHC Playamero Family Complex, UHC Scala Mar Apartments or UHC Les Ones Family Complex amongst others.

5. Cala Crancs Cove

 

The Cala Crancs cove in Salou is a little out of the way, located near the lighthouse about 6 km from the centre. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most beautiful coves in Salou, its 80m long sandy beach is surrounded by cliffs and nature. An idyllic setting where you can also enjoy good services such as showers, toilets, sun lounger hire, lifeguard and a good beach bar - restaurant where you can taste delicious typical Catalan dishes or just pizza and a cold beer! A very attractive setting for a day at the beach. The fine, golden sand which slopes gently down into the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, making it perfect for swimming, paddling or any other kind of messing around in the warm waters that is part and parcel of having a great family holiday in Salou. The Cala Crancs cove is situated along the "Camí de Ronda".

6. Cala Llenguadets Cove

The wonderful Cala Llenguadets cove is the neighbouring beach of Playa Capellans. The cove is only 400m from the town centre, so take a stroll through the interior of the town or walk along the beautiful coastal path Cami de Ronda that runs along the entire coastline. This is a beautiful cove, barely 100m wide, surrounded by the best nature has to offer. totally protected by spectacular rock cliffs and apartment buildings. Due to its proximity to the centre, it is surprising how clean and crystalline this Cala Llenguadets is. Its transparent waters are always inviting for swimming.

During Summer months, Cala Llenguadets is usually very busy, as it is small in size. It is advisable to arrive early in the morning in order to get a good spot near the water. This beach does not have many services or facilities, but it does have an access ramp for disabled people, as well as a good beach bar where you can also rent sun beds and sunshades.

7. Cala Penya Tallada Cove

 

The small and wild Penya Tallada cove is set in an area of natural beauty on the stretch of rocky coastline that reaches the lighthouse of Salou. Located 5 km from the centre in the heart of Cabo de Salou, the Cala Penya Tallada is one of those beaches that you would never expect to find in Salou. It's a wild cove far from the hustle and bustle of the centre and recommended for the whole family.

The Cala Penya Tallada cove is a tiny tongue of fine sand, only 125m long, with crystalline waters protected by cliffs. A natural environment of pine trees and Mediteranean vegetation that will make you forget for a moment that you are in Salou. The cove is quite unknown, it is usually occupied by the locals or people staying in the rental apartments in the surrounding area, but it is relatively quiet. You can access via a staircase that descends gently down to the beach.

Obviously as this beach is rather small, there are no services, no showers, no lifeguards, no sun lounger rental and no beach bar. If you like a relaxing day on a natural beach, a dip in the sea and a read a good book, the Penya Tallada is just perfect. Oh, don't forget to bring your goggles and flippers!


8. Cala Font Cove & Cala Vinya Cove

Talk about the Cala Font Cove and mention its sister Cove Cala Vinya. Two small and charming coves, surrounded by small cliffs, typical Mediterranean vegetation and bathed by clean and crystalline waters. Both coves would be paradise if they didn't have so many holiday accommodations around them. During summer months, the beaches are really crowded, so if you have the opportunity to visit them in June or September, you will be able to enjoy their beauty much more. In spite of their small size, both coves offer sunbeds and parasols for rent, as well as 2 beach bars (one on each beach) where you can have a refreshing drink or taste delicious local dishes such as rice, fish and seafood.

The famous "Camino de Ronda" runs through these coves, offering beautiful scenery along the cliffs with crystal clear waters and soft golden sand. In this area the path becomes a little more difficult, but it still is suitable for everyone, so a family afternoon excursion could be a perfect plan.
